The latest developments in the world of vans will be featured amid the glamour and excitement at this summer's British International Motor Show (23 July-3 August) at ExCeL London, when What Van? Land appears for the first time. The UK's biggest motoring event will host this all-new attraction which will highlight products and innovations from a wide range of light commercial vehicle manufacturers.
The addition of the LCV area is expected to broaden the appeal of the Show to an even wider audience, including current and prospective van owners, such as sole traders and small business owners. Visitors to the area will find a large selection of new models, interesting concepts and specialist conversions on display.
"We are confident that What Van? Land will bring added appeal for those who plan to attend the Show to see the traditional automotive displays," explained Kirsty Perkinson, the Show's marketing director. "Small business owners and self-employed LCV users who are visiting the main area of the Show will be able to mix business with pleasure, and are certain to find this specialist attraction particularly interesting.
"Among the Motor Show's regular visitors are self-employed van users and people with purchasing responsibility in small and medium-sized businesses which run just one or a small number of vans. They might not normally visit a dedicated commercial vehicle show, which would typically cater for vehicle fleet managers from larger organisations. The addition of the LCV area to this year's British International Motor Show gives individuals from smaller companies an added incentive to visit the Show at ExCeL."
Supported by Britain's biggest monthly van magazine, What Van? Land complements other specialist areas at the Show, including the Supercar Paddock, Heritage Enclosure and the ultra-luxurious Marine Experience, which showcases a wide variety of craft, from power to sail, from dinghies to multi-million-pound yachts and motor cruisers.
The 2006 Motor Show proved to be a big hit with motoring enthusiasts the world over, drawing over 415,000 attendees to ExCeL, exceeding all expectations and securing its status in the international automotive industry calendar. This year the Show is set to be even bigger and better, and is projected to attract over 550,000 visitors.
